Teen baseball Bedroom

I’m typically not one for sports-team–themed living spaces, but kids’ and teens’ rooms are always the exception.

When I design for adults, I try to dig deeper: into their personal style, their color preferences, their history, and the materials that represent who they are beyond a team logo. There’s usually a richer story to tell than simply “I like this team.” But designing for teens is different. Their sense of self is still forming and sometimes a favorite team is their strongest source of inspiration. My goal is to honor that excitement while still creating a space that can grow with them.

What I love about this room is its versatility. The foundation—sophisticated paint colors, timeless furniture, and adaptable open shelving—allows the theme to change easily as this 12 year old's interests shift. The sports elements are layered in rather than built in, giving him the freedom to evolve while keeping the design polished and intentional.
